By using this website or submitting any form on it, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

What FindSolar.ca is

FindSolar.ca is an independent educational guide and installer directory. We are not a solar installer, we do not sell equipment, and we do not perform installations. Companies appear in our directory because they are part of our independent index of the Canadian solar market; being indexed is not an endorsement, a recommendation or a guarantee of any company's work. Any contract for solar work is between you and the installer you choose.

Quote requests and your consent to share information

When you submit a quote request, you expressly authorize FindSolar.ca to send the information in that request to solar installers who serve your area, so they can contact you with quotes by phone, email or text at the contact details you provided. That is the entire purpose of the form. You agree to submit accurate information and only your own. Requesting quotes is free for homeowners, creates no obligation to buy anything, and you can tell any installer to stop contacting you at any time. We do not promise that any particular number of installers will respond, and we are not a party to any agreement you reach with an installer.

Educational content, calculators and figures

Our guides and calculators exist to help you plan. Their figures are planning estimates built on flagged assumptions, not quotes, engineering assessments or professional advice of any kind, including financial, legal or tax advice. Rebate and program information reflects the official sources linked at the time of verification, and those official pages always govern. Confirm every number that matters with the program, your utility and your own advisors before signing anything.

Using the site

You may use the site for personal, non-commercial research and for requesting quotes. You may not scrape, harvest or bulk-extract the directory or its data, misrepresent who you are on any form, submit other people's information without their authority, or interfere with the site's operation. The site's original content belongs to FindSolar.ca; installer names and logos belong to their owners and appear for identification.

Third-party sites and services

Links to utilities, government programs and installer websites lead to services we do not control and are provided for convenience. Their content and policies are their own.

Working with installers

This section applies to solar companies and their representatives.

Listings and claims. Directory listings are built from our own independent index of publicly available information. Installers may claim their listing for free, correct their details, and choose optional paid services. Claiming requires verification that you represent the business, and reaching out from your business domain makes that verification fast. We may decline, correct or remove any listing to keep the directory accurate, including businesses that appear closed or that misrepresent themselves.

Leads and referral fees. Homeowner quote requests are passed to indexed installers who cover the request's area. Installers who choose to respond pay a flat referral fee only after quote delivery, and the fee is the same for every installer. The homeowner's price is never marked up because of us.

No pay-to-rank, ever. Payment never changes search placement, ordering or how a company appears in results. Paid offerings are services, such as profile enhancements or website work, never placement. Any installer asking to buy ranking will be declined.

Installer conduct. By receiving leads you agree to contact homeowners professionally, honour Canadian anti-spam rules in your outreach, use lead information only to provide the requested quotes, and not resell or share it. We may stop providing leads to any installer at our discretion, including for homeowner complaints.

Disclaimers and limits

The site is provided as is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, FindSolar.ca is not liable for the acts or omissions of any installer, for decisions you make based on planning figures, or for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law does not allow to be limited.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms, with the current version always at this address and dated at the top. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it.
